Dear Benefactors and Friends,

Lent is well under way and again we make our best efforts to come closer to the Lord through fasting, praying, and almsgiving. Also, again, I am appealing to you our benefactors to consider how – through that third Lenten obligation – you might help MMOGS with a generous donation.

Education is front and centre in the public conversation and more and more parents are looking at options. Even at this time in the school year we are seeing this firsthand with the number of inquiries we get at the school. This is exciting, but our ability to serve this need is only as deep as our resources allow. And our resources are limited.

I remind you all that we operate without public funding, without any endowment fund, without the financial help of a religious community. We maintain operations in a modest facility, under the generous patronage of friendly landlords. We pay very, very modest salaries – well under the levels of other schools public or private – and this while the cost of inflation continues to make life less affordable in Toronto. We can only do this with the support of all of you.

Please consider a generous gift in this season of Lent. There is no ‘flush’ time in the annual financial calendar here at the school, but the mid-winter period always seems particularly tight, so your help is especially necessary.

As you reflect on a gift, and even if you can’t give, please continue to pray for Mary, Mother of God School.  And please know that the children in their daily prayers remember all of you and yours.

In Mary, Mother of God,

Timothy M. Egan
President of the Board of Directors
